Lyme disease & hysterectomy

Hello!,
I have Lyme disease - had it for a year undiagnosed. Have been on anti-biotics for about 2 months. I am not scheduled, yet, for my hysterectomy. I have an appt. to talk with a surgeon on Sept. 3rd.
I am wondering if anyone knows if my Lyme disease will be too overwhelming an issue along with the other things I will encounter having a hysterectomy. It only just occurred to me.

I do realize that this is "not" doctor advice here, but just wonder if anyone knows about or has heard about someone having Lyme and having this surgery.

Thank you so much! I have lots of other questions, but I will post them separately, I guess.

Re: Lyme disease & hysterectomy

Hi Carol!
Welcome to this website! I do not have Lyme disease (that I'm aware of), but I'm sure if other ladies do, they will chime in. You could type in the word Lyme disease in the upper right hand space next to the GOOGLE SEARCH button. If any of the ladies here mention it, you will be directed to that discussion thread.

Re: Lyme disease & hysterectomy

Dear Friends/Sisters,

What is the best place to go on this website to find out what kind of surgery I should talk with the surgeon about? I "think" I want to "keep" my ovaries & I know I want all other things taken out. Is there a way to find out if this is able to be done?

How does one know what hormone replacement to take, if I "do" take the ovaries out?

I wasn't worried about anything until I started filling out the survey on here - it sounds so-o-o complicated!

I am just "miserable" the way I am and just want to have the surgery. I really haven't thought about the "after", until I got on here.

I am having trouble with my bladder. It is making me very "uncomfortable", because of the fibroid pressing on it. It is 8cm in size. I have experienced level 9 back pain that is more bearable than this bladder discomfort!

I wonder will it be "okay" after the surgery?

Thanks for any input you can give.
Carol P.
