dVH/RALH: pre op nerves total hysterectomy 8-7-11

Here we go again, Docs want me to have a total Hyst for enlarged uterus and abnormal bleeding. It was one year ago this month went through same anxieties with breast cancer. fromwhat I here this should be a breeze compared to my last surgery and treatments. I think im more nervous this time, last time I was just plain scared. I find this hard to beleive they can do this out patient. Will I need someone the next day? I dont really like people around me when im sick. My sister calls me stuuborn.

Good luck with your upcoming surgery. I am scheduled for DVH on 8/26. Your doctor really should've covered with you what you will need help with. You will definitely need some sort of help at home for awhile. You won't be able to drive for a week-2 weeks. I don't really like people around me when I'm sick either, but it's really necessary for this. You can't lift, bend, etc. Hope all goes well for you!

Thanks, Good luck with your surgery too. Im sure the Dr said lots of things but all I heard was Tot hysterctomy!
