LAVH: Should i be nervous about switch in hysterectomy procedure during surgery?

Having laparoscopic hys tomorrow. Doctor said it may change to abdominal. Should i be nervous?

I think they always say that to cover their behinds...I wouldn't worry too much.

My doctor told me the same thing. I think they say that because sometimes things come up during surgery they didn't see ahead of time that would require them to do a full abdominal incision. I don't think that happens very often tho. I'm going with the thought that if they do need to open me up, if rather they go ahead and get it done than stop and have to do a second surgery later. Already in there, just do it!😷
