I also had it, but my doc had warned me about it...she had told me before surgery that 2-3 weeks after I may experience a burning sensation as well as sharp jabbing pains that last a few seconds that come out of no where.....she said it is nerve endings healing and awakening...the burning was just as Lisaanne2 described.....felt like burning, sandpaper kind of feeling...lasted about a week or so...it gets better!

If you are concerned, call your doctor! I am nearly 8 wks post op and still have burning pains, jabbing, etc. from time to time. But not continuous. I've read many times on this site that it will take us 6 mos - 1 yr to completely heal from a hyst. Make sure you're not over doing it and get plenty of rest! Remember to pamper the princess!

I'm having burning in my upper tummy (just above the belly button) and this week I started having jabbing pains that feels like it's in the area of my vagina. I'm 4 weeks post-op today and I also started back to work part time (just 3 days, 3 hours per day) so I'm assuming it's either normal healing pains or aches from sitting at my desk at work. Either way, I'm taking it as a sign to get lots of rest for the next 3 days before I go back to work again on Monday. Glad to hear it's not unusual and will get better.

i'm almost a year out and i still have that pain from time to time. if i cough too much or too hard. if i twist the wrong way too fast. it is very short lived but it does burn.

thanks for your responses. i went to the doctor today. she did say the pain is nerves healing and may take a few more weeks for it to stop. she did give me a prescription..said it is new so hopefully that will help relieve the burning. your right and i told her it feels like my stomach is on fire.

I am three weeks post-op and am having that burning feeling around my incision and down the front of my thighs... there is also a place on the front of my right thigh that is still numb... i'm hoping that it's all just nerves. It gets worse when I've been up and around too much.
