Re: I wont miss
Oh this is great. There are so many things I won't miss from both ends of my body. Seriously! My choking asthma that has been with me for years all the way into surgery was gone as I was wheeled out of surgery. Doc cautions that "I'm better" not "cured" He doesn't know what I've been living with. So I won't miss coughing anywhere and everywhere all the time. I won't miss using so much tissue that all one had to do is look in the wastebasket to know I'd been there. I won't miss cutting back on asthma medication once my allergist approves. (Can't wait for that one!)
Moving down the body: I won't miss the heavy back aches, the bleeding any old time especially when you're on vacation, the belly that looked 3 months pregnant right before it was going to bleed, the fatigue, the unexpected constipation or diarrhea (one never knows) right before your period, the sudden crankiness for no reason and the brain fog that was also my indicator of the next day's period. Is my time up?

Re: I wont miss
One unexpected outcome of my surgery is that my blood pressure is suddenly normal. I have high blood pressure, or had it. Since surgery I haven't taken my bp meds & my bp is normal. It hasn't been normal for many years. Hope it's not a temporary thing!

Re: I wont miss
Are you saying that your hysterectomy helped make you "better" (not "cured") of your asthma? That's fascinating if it's the case, as an indication of how inter-connected our bodies truly are.

Re: I wont miss
@fastiller: That's EXACTLY what I'm saying! My Immunologist, my Allergist, AND the Surgeon emphatically told me that I "wouldn't be cured of anything but I'd feel much better". So I did NOT expect to have the CONSTANT phlegm and coughing STOP dead the minute I had my hysterectomy! If that's just "feeling much better" I'll take it! I might still officially have asthma but the constant, exhausting, and unexplainable coughing is gone! I'm still not certain that I'm not dreaming.

Re: I wont miss
Great thread!!! I WILL NOT MISS:
1.)the horrible pain every month
2.)the constant worry of bleeding through any sanitary napkin or tampon invented
3.)the vacation worry because it never seemed to fail that my period would show up as soon as I was done packing a bag.
4.)sleeping on a towel so I didn't ruin the sheets.

Re: I wont miss
I wont miss bleeding so heavy that I have to sit in the bathtub for hours. I wont miss giving "birth" to eggplant sized blood clots. I won't miss the painful sex. (It's been a year since my TAH and our sex life has never been better!) AND I wear white all the time now

Re: I wont miss
I won't miss
The 'Ok, just got done bleeding for 5-9 days straight - do I get a week off before the next one?'
The "PMS" on the "off week"
The accompanying migraines - starting month 7 of recovery and not 1 migraine since
The cramps, the vomiting, backaches, cold sweats with nausea, constantly feeling like I am in limbo with it, the gushers, the unexpected middle of the day onsets...
not to mention all the others you had in there!
Listen to your doctor - and watch this site, figure out what best works for you, but by all means - DO NOT OVER DO THINGS!
Best of Luck!
