Fibroids and weight gain

Until now, I thought I was going crazy. I am glad to know that it is only my body that is crazy. I have gained 30 pounds in the last 12 months. Some of that is simple contentment, but having always been a size 4-6 and know a 10+, with most of it in my mid-section, left me wondering if all of this really does happen when someone literally turns 40. I turned 40 last July, and BaBoom, nothing fits. As it turns out, I was diagnosed with fibroids, and cysts on my ovaries (well what they think are cysts) and dysplasia of my cervix. I have had one leep (successfully)but hormones have not helped the cysts. They are growing. Anyway, I have made a decision to have it all taken out in a couple of weeks. I am looking forward to wearing my jeans again. I am tired of looking and feeling pregnant all of the time.

LOL...I am not small framed or skinny...and I too have gained weight over the past year...but I also have quit working out!! No brainer right? In addition one of my fibroids is the size of 1.5 oranges...nothing compared to you ladies...BUT I HAVE BEEN TOTALLY been rubbing my belly in front of my girlfriends declaring...yep...it's just a fibroid belly!! My girlfriend who also has fibroids said...oh that is what my problem is!! She promptly followed up with I think I have them in my rear end too!! ROTF (I am not trying to offend anyone...fibroids are not really funny...but it was a fantastic stress release for me!!) I hope someone else get a good belly laugh out of that too! Hugs

LOL! I totally got a good belly laugh out of your friend's comment! You are right -- humor can reduce the stress. So can good friends.
