Hello all.

Doing good today. 12 days post op. Still bathroom issues blah! Overdid it yesterday with all the walking at Kohls, so I'm resting today. DH did the vacuuming for me this a.m. He just went to do the grocery shopping and he did the laundry last night.......he's a good one! The rest, well, I wiped down the sinks and toilets, and the rest will need to wait a while longer........oh well My aunt called this morning to see if I wanted to take a ride to my favorite discount store today.......DH answered the phone and told her he was putting his foot down, not letting me go. I told her I'm on house arrest!! LOL I AM SUCH A BAD PATIENT. I'M BORED!!!!!

But, feeling pretty good, overall.

Pamisuze, make sure you don't do that vacuuming!!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

This is too funny because my full name is Pamela Sue

Anyhow, today I also went to the store for an hour to do small grocery shopping cause nothing is bought right if I don't do it.
I have a 53 year old and 14 year old both males and they HATE any kind of shopping......both love to eat though!!!!

I think I did well on my little 1 1/2 hours (2 weeks post op) excursion. They dropped me off while they went to breakfast (have no desire to eat in restaurant, hope it stays that way), went to supermarket in same shopping center, think I had a small panic attack during short 40 minutes there, I think it was because I was alone in a large store for the first time in weeks. Has anyone experienced this? Well after walking around very slowly around the store for 40 minutes, finished what I needed to buy, sat down called DH and he came over to pay and lift for purchases. DS decided he needed a 24 pack of snapple on sale and I made him lift the glass bottles. Dropped him off at tennis center for lesson, and now I'm home and actually feel good.

Yippee, my first excursion without feeling exhausted when I finished.

to all my sisters

My house needs vac so bad too. My dh has been home for over two weeks, but doesn't seem to notice the dust on the furniture or the wood floors! He goes to work on Monday and I am afraid I will at least have to dust. Maybe I will just put the dustmop on the floor next week if he doesn't get to it.

I had my surgery on the 17th and I am doing great. But it is hard to be idle, however when I start doing too much I can feel it. In fact I would say in some ways I am more uncomfortable now. I have a constant lower back ache. And my insides just "feel" sore. I was relieved to see this is normal. It is annoying though....I wonder if the relief one feels over have the surgery done makes you feel better then you are? My H is being great, I keep saying, "I'm sorry", rather silly I know. And I have to remind the 16 year old, he does think I should be normal .

so-so day

Coming up on 3 weeks (Monday), and today I find myself with actual pain. I had cut down to 1-2 doses of pain meds a day, already had 2 today and fairly sure I'll be needing more. UG. It's a crampy like pain as well as a stabbing pain in vag area.
Didn't even DO anything yesterday, was feeling like I had a mild tummy-bug so just laid on the couch almost all day and rested.
Christine, hoping you had a nice birthday, and you and DH were able to enjoy a nice dinner?
Have a great day everyone, keep those feet up!!

Java Jane,

So sorry to hear about the pain. I didn't really have any pain in the beginning except for the gas pain. Now if I'm on my feet too long, or overdo it at all, I have what I call surgical pain, like healing pain or something........I find that wierd. Most of the time ibuprofen is enough but sometimes at night I'll take a percoset.

Oh and yes, DH got take out and we watched movies. It turned out to be a nice evening after all!! Thanks for the good wishes!

Anyone else having trouble sleeping?

Have a good evening all!!

I find I only have trouble sleeping after the pain meds wear off. If I take them again in the middle of the night, I feel like a zombie the next day, so usually I lay there deciding whether or not I need to go to the bathroom and waiting to hear someone else get up.

The one night I went to sleep on 800 mg of ibuprofen, I had trouble gettting to sleep, but then stayed asleep all night.

Good luck on a good rest tonight.

Sometimes, I'm not that tired at night(probably from not doing much during the day). I'll take 2 benadryl and sleep like a baby.

Vacuuming seems to be one of the bigger "no nos" in this recovery process. My instructions are not until 6 weeks post op.

We have an indoor/outdoor dog and an indoor cat.... the "fur bunnies" are beginning to "congregate and rule".... I did "gently" sweep a few of them up.... just couldn't stand it anymore... But the majority of them are going to have to wait.

Seeing things that need to be done.... that you used to do..... and can't do now..... really does challenge our discipline doesn't it???

Hang in there.... rest up..... it'll all be there when we get "up to it".... I promise...

Take care.... and try not to let it worry you.....
