How old is everyone?

I am new to this site this is really my first post -I am 35 y/o w/no children. I have to say more than one person has stated "you know you won't be able to have children." Goodness how do you reply to that? My sister calls them "PWACS" "people without a clue" I have met a lot of those lately! strange since I wiork in the medical field and most of these comments are made by health professionals!

your sister is right... the correct response would be along the lines of: sorry to hear that, hope all goes well... i personally have not wanted children (you should hear the comments i get!) and am not as phased by that as i am about the surgery and the recovery, but for those that do want children, God has a plan for you... so until you find out what that plan is, dont listen to these PWACS.... keep your head up!

How old is everyone?

I'm 37 and have two kids, 8 (almost 9) and 2, scheduled to have tvh June 21st - diagnosed with cervical cancer, and was exposed to DES before I was born. I'm scared out of my mind, but ready to get off this roller coaster of having a Pap every 4 months and the anxiety of waiting for the results

How old is everyone?

I'm 38, with 3 children, ages 12, 9 and 6. I'm falling in Mom's footsteps; she was 38 when she had her hysterectomy, too. I don't get the, "You're so young," comment, but I often get, "Oh, you are going to be so glad you did this!"

I'm seriously looking forward to the pain and the horrendous bleeding to be OVER. My last period ended yesterday. Over 4 weeks of really heavy bleeding, to the point that I am completely exhausted. I'm really looking forward to May 14.

Valerie, I can certainly relate! Although I am just a week shy of 50, I too am anxious to be stopping the long, frequent, and at times painful periods. Blood levels are now showing a touch of anemia, which is to be expected. Because of the high estrogen levels that ovarian cysts are producing, I am also suffering through migraines and ear popping to the point I am in a tunnel (ENT said increased levels of estrogen can cause eustachian tube disorder by thickening the walls of the eustachian tube and causing air flow issues...who would have thought?). I'm ready to get this show on the road.

By coincidence my surgery was also scheduled for May 14th, but has been moved back to May 21st due to a scheduling issue for my surgeon. I would much rather go with the 14th! Good luck with your surgery and crossing over to the castle!

How old is everyone?

I'm 24 with too babies, 6 and 15 months. I'm having this due to prolapsed uterus. I haven't told too many people, so I don't get the you're too young. I get family that is not understanding and don't get that even if I don't have this surgery that I can't have more babies. My mom won't talk about it too me. She avoids the whole subject. It's rather annoying. I do have a very supportive husband though. As long as I have him I know I'll be ok.

Princess Franks, I'm sorry that you haven't had much support with what you are going through. Thank goodness for terrific husbands! Always remember that the ladies here are also a wonderful support system. Personally I have been simply overwhelmed with the caring, support, and wonderful insight from this group. Hang in there!

How old is everyone?

I'm 28 and have 3 children ages 9, 6 and 2. I have a husband who is supportive...however won't talk about it with me. My mom is wonderful though and will help me every step of the way. My surgery is coming up in a few weeks. Oh and I have a prolapsed uterus and rectocele.

Melish, both you and Princess Franks have your hands full with babies/children! Husbands sometimes have a difficult time when it comes to medical stuff. Mine has never been very good in that regard, although we have been married 30 years and adore each other. The key is to have a good support system, and your mother sounds like she fits the bill. I have always had a couple close friends who have made themselves available if I need help, and our 22 year old son has also been great. Hang in there, go easy, and take each day at a time! Good luck to you.
