IC of the bladder and Hysterectomy
I had chronic UTI's and kidney infections before I had my TVH with A&P repairs. So I have had a little experience with bladder problems. I also had the supra-public catheter for 2 weeks following my surgery. My surgery was to correct the chronic UTI's. I am only 3 1/2 weeks post op but if you ever need to talk my e-mail is barbara39@prodigy.net. I have done a lot of research throughout this year on UTIs. I know that after my surgery I did have some problems with bladder spasms, particularly when I had the catheter in. Each person is different, but being nervous before surgery is a common ailment! I hope you have an uneventful speedy recovery.

I hope that you will receive some additional replies from women who have had similar symptoms, but in the meantime, you might want to read the pre-op and post-op hints that are found on the main page of this site:

There are also stories written by real women who have already had their surgeries:

All of this information, and lots more is found in the Hystersisters book "Through the Land of Hyster" which also helps to keep this site free.
