Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

I see the Dr next Wed. I should be able to go back to work after being off for 6 weeks.
I too am worried about sitting for long hours. I still have vag pain off and on. I walked too much day before yesterday.
I felt awful the next day, pain inside, low pelvic pain and my legs were hurting. I felt so tired I was nauseated.
I have not walked outside today, as it has been raining and I had to make calls.
I hope I'm ready. I will probably have to work 8 hrs 5 days a week until the end of the month due to timekeeping at work. I usually work the 12 hrs 3-4 days a week. So this way, I can ease back in.
I felt like a hamster on the running wheel before my surgery, I wonder if I can jump back on again?
I originally scheduled 8 weeks off as Dr thought I'd have to have a TAH.
So, I dont HAVE too go back. I am lucky in that respect.
I guess I just dont want anyone thinking I am lazy as I did not have a TAH.
Will see how I feel next week.

Wannarideagain, if I were you, I would take all the time you have scheduled off. Once you go back, everyone thinks you are fine, and the rat race starts all over again. You will feel so much better going back if you are in top form. I don't think it's lazy. I call it healing smart. I wish I had told them I was having a tah and scheduled 8 weeks off. Unfortunately, my principal had the same thing I had and was back to work earlier than me. I just keep telling myself that there are no medals for being superwoman. We are different people with different healing times. Going back today was very hard, and I am really hurting tonight. I'm so glad that I only have to go in for 3 1/2 hours. Good luck to you.

Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

Well it's been the pits going back to work, I made it 9 1/2 hours Monday sitting in the chair at my desk, Tuesday I couldn't make it the whole day and this morning I woke up hurting inside so bad I had to call in. I haven't hurt like this in weeks. It's a deep-inside discomfort like everything is raw again. It's amazing how sitting upright in a chair at work can hurt you! I feel like I've lifted 50lbs or strained myself in some way. I'll try it again tomorrow and see how I feel.........

Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

I am going back to work 3 weeks post-op on saturday. I had laparoscopic, but I'm a nurse on a med-surg floor. My job is very physically demanding. My dr. cleared me to go back, but I'm wondering if I'm pushing it?

Thank you nurselynn. Your work is much harder than mine. I will be in situations where even getting up to stretch when I need to will be impossible. Also, being able to go to the restroom when I need to.
I also find that when one returns from vacation, etc they seem to get "thrown" back into the mix with the toughest assignments, etc.
(the person doing our schedules is kinda evil that way).
I guess I will have to suck it up. I was working before my surgery feeling much worse than I am now.
I just want to feel all better, soon!

Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

Hello all. I go back to work on Monday 1/14. I am really scared. I am on my feet quite a bit with my job. I did share my concerns with my MD at 5 weeks and said some people go back at 4 weeks and I will be fine. I had a TVH on 11/30....

Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

Well today was day 2 back at work, and it was much tougher than yesterday! I didn't think 11:30 would ever get here. I told the office I would still be taking 1/2 days next week. I just can't imagine lasting all day. ugh! My legs are hurting and my belly inside still feels raw. Oh how I wish I could take a hot bath! Also, isn't it weird that you feel like your insides are coming out, but wait...they already took them out! Bless my dh--he had my recliner fixed up and a blanket on the couch for me so I could nap if needed! Hugs to all of you who are back or are having to get ready to go back.

I hope your are feeling better soon. I should try to go back before end of month, that way I'll only be in the "chair" 8 hrs instead of 12.
I went shopping for looser pants today. Some of my jeans are not too tight, but they seem to press on and irritate my belly and area down there.
I love my drawstring pants.

unbuttoned jeans with a long shirt are my best friend...aside from my good buddy the heating pad after work.

Is it just me? Pain after going back to work...

I am happy to report that I had a good day today. Thank God! I felt so rested this morning and my mood was soooo good. I got to laughing, though, cause the kids were quite rowdy today and then I had a "cockroach incident". Kids were running, I was chasing with a paper towel. It was mayhem! And the 'cockroach' was actually a cricket! Anyway, I got to laughing because you just never know what kind of strangeness will take place in school. I am glad to be laughing again. I would say that this is the best I have felt in months, including before surgery. I can only believe it will get better from here. Boy, what a difference a good nights sleep will make! Hang in there everyone!
