Welcome soprecious34

soprecious34 I too have a very enlarged Uterus and was told to expect the same. After seeing a Gynae. Onc. He said he is NOT prepared to give HRT and will only do surgery if there is little risk. We had found that I need to take Lactolose. This helps with bowels. I also get cysts on my ovaries all of the time. There are blood tests which can detect some kind of cancers and as I am not a doctor it might be best to ask your surgeon about this. My surgeon is a little reluctant to operate until he knows, that my blood tests are OK and that having a Hysterectomy is the only way forward I am so thankful to have such good doctors. The lady doctor who used to work in surgery with my specialist is now my GP. She had taken time off to bring up her daughter who is 6yrs. She is against me, having a hysterectomy - saying, it will bring on a surgical menopause, and as it is now proved my immune system is causing similar pains - to yours - surgery will be done if absolutely necessary. I have a feeling, the specialist will NOT want to operate - but he will be in touch soon. This is a scary time, for you and I am sure, there are many sisters here, who are better able to advise you, than me.Having such a large uterus and a Fibroid which is on the outside - I wanted to say Hello, and to welcome you. I remember how scared I felt the first time I posted. If you have doubts about anything please, please, always ask your doctor. We can chat about our experiences - but the doctors, are the ones who will know why certain things are hurting etc.My surgeon, has also said he will let me have an epidural for I am never well -when it comes, to being put to sleep. This is rare in the UK - unless, a person pays privately - so I also feel blessed. They are nOT happy about giving me HRT though This site, has helped me to become stronger & to learn that a Hysterectomy is not too bad after all. Prayers for you & sending ((HUGS)) donna42

Hi! I agree that you should let your doc know when you see him about your symptoms.

It's very possible that the fibroids are causing these feelings, but it could also be something else.

Also, if you have your new surgery date, it would be great if you could edit your profile to reflect the new date.

as you continue on your journey. I hope this time your surgery goes on as scheduled.

Talk to your doctor. I had similar symptoms and it was found that I had an adeno the size of a softball pushing on everything else. It could be anything and nothing serious.

It is difficult to have surgery cancelled, even if you do it your self. Mine was cancelled twice and it really weighs on you mentally.

helpppppp!!!

My uterus is so enlarged and tilted that my cervix is actually pushing agains my rectum. I feel like I have to use the bathroom, both ways, all the time, and then when I try, it's difficult. I had a lot of exams, but for some odd reason, the cervix pushing wasn't discovered until my surgeon examined me. I think it's worse in the morning after I have been laying down all night, and that appointment happened to be a very early one. Maybe everything shifted just enough that they couldn't tell before. I also have a large fibroid that is squashing my bladder and moving my uterus to not to comfortable positions. Do tell your doc asap. There are a lot of things it could be, and I know, it is horrible to not be able to go to the bathroom. My fibroid is painful all the time, too. I have endometriosis which has probably made adhesions in different area that cause pulling and pain, too. Our insides are so complex. Wishing you the best.

soprecious34, hang in there and make sure you communicate with your doctor. I started my period the day before my surgery date and was in so much pain that my blood pressure was sky high before surgery. They (pre-op personel) almost cancelled surgery until someone told my dr and she asked for the epidural to be started early so she could do the surgery. Once she got inside, she found that my uterus had attached to my back from endometriosis in addition to the "known" issues. Let your doctor know what is going on so they can hopefully help you until you get to the surgery date.

The pain from surgery has been a lot at first, but mine was only SLIGHTLY worse than the pain I was living with before surgery. Before surgery I was having chronic back pain, to the point I was having difficulty walking. Constipation was also an issue. Even 2 weeks post op I am feeling so much better - the pain is essentially gone! I hope and pray the same happens for you as well. Surgery is frightening, but for me it has been worth it so far.
