Do Hormonal Headaches Cease If Ovaries Are Kept?

My right ovary always gave me painful cysts so I chose to have it removed and kept only my left one. 5 weeks out and it hasn't kicked in yet. Good news---no hormonal headaches--bad news big time hot flashes.

I considered having my ovaries removed in order to reduce headaches and breast pain, but decided to keep them since they were healthy and I knew it wasn't a sure bet.

I'm happy to report that since my hysterectomy, my headaches/migraines have greatly decreased! It's been wonderful! Of course, I'm only 2-1/2 months post-op so maybe it won't last. Another blessing is that my monthly breast tenderness is not as severe, although it still lasts 2 weeks. But this PNS is much better than PMS!

It's interesting to hear how different women are affected by keeping or removing their ovaries. I wish we could all be headache-free forever!
