Tips that’s make the difference!

Hey ladies!

Prepping for a hyst is like prepping for the great unknown. It’s scary that’s for sure. But don’t let the fear overwhelm you, instead prep like it’s holiday! I called it my Hysterectomy Holiday.

1. If you are already eating healthy and exercising regularly, keep it up and even boost it up. Your immune system will thank you. If you are not healthy and active, it’s time to.

2. Practice deep breathing as part of your daily routine. You will be deep breathing a lot post op so it’s helpful to program it into your being now so it’s second nature while you are resting and healing.

3. Prep your post op resources. What do you want your holiday to look like?! Move the tv into your room or collect a bunch of books you know you’ve been wanting to read. On top of that, if you have a helper, mark the recipes in the cookbooks that you are gonna wanna eat, or send them emails from your fave food blogs. If you don’t have a helper, start prepping your meals and freezing them for easy access post op. You basically wanna eat super healthy meals post op to keep the healin on track. If your doc says it’s gonna be ok for you to wear a belly binder, buy it now, a lot of women bought an extendo grabber for reaching items dropped on the floor, buy that now. If you don’t have comfy clothes, buy some now. Also, buy some all natural stool softeners a high potency multi vitamin, some CBD capsules and a pain cream (like MJ creams if you’re in Canada). Make sure you have a heating pad or a hot water bottle and ice packs. You’ll want both at different times! Make sure you have an antibacterial soap at home for your post op showers at home. Coconut soap is a natural antibacterial soap that also moisturizes and smells good!

4. As the day draws near, treat yourself to a hair cut and a mani / pedi. Post op you will feel terrible and this will help you remember that you’re a queen! Trust me! This move makes a world of difference.

5. Day before, pack your holiday bag with clean comfy clothes, towels, snacks, a book, your iPad and charger, soap, hair brush, toothpaste and toothbrush. All the things you might need. You don’t wanna be without the things you need. I didn’t use everything in my bag but it’s rather be safe than sorry!

6. Day of, make sure the one who will come visit if you are staying overnight, brings you healthy food during visiting hours. Hospital food is terrible.

7. Going home from hospital, PILLOWS in the car make the drive more bearable!

Much love
