wee problem! please help

Had my TVH on 22nd march.Whilst the catheter was in situ still everything waterwork-wise seemed ok.It was removed the next day and the dreaded pee freeze I had experienced last time I was catheterised didnt materialise thankfully, although it was a bit sore passing water.
The hospital staff sent a specimin of urine straight after the catheter was removed, and to my knowledge the results were fine.
However, the wee-ing hasnt got any easier.I dont feel uncomfy when I have a full bladder,or in between visiting the bathroom, but I am finding it sore passing water, and having never had a hysterectomy before,I dont know if this is normal!!!
When I sit on the loo,the worst pain comes in the second before the wee-ing starts, you know when I relax the necessary muscles. It is quite a sharp pain and it makes me reluctant to go to the toilet! This pain carries on throughout the wee,and for a minute or so after. It then goes until I find myself back in the bathroom attempting my next wee!!
Also when I finish,it still feels as though I have more in my bladder.
Is this normal?Could it be the bruising from the surgery still? If it were a urine infection wouldnt something have shown on the specimin, and wouldnt I have had a temperature?
Any advice?

Sam

wee problem! please help

Sam so glad you made it!
I did really well too - in fact I am still blown away at how good I feel. My plumbing seems to be working just fine. It was a bit slow at first but has settled in just fine.
I've read quite a few posts about waterworks being troublesome and considering the rearranging that went on inside, it's no wonder! Hopefully you can put a call into your doc on Monday - that's what they're there for.
I am still just so delighted that I feel so fine. Maybe it's because I was ready for just about anything and everything to go wrong after reading all the experiences on this site that I can't believe I got away so easily.
Am really being careful though - don't want to wreck this! Go with caution.
Hope you get your wee stituation sorted out soon. Are you doing well otherwise?
hugs

hi,glad to hear you are doing so well!
My doctor made a housecall this morning, and she didnt want to examine me (PHEW!),as she said she doesnt want to interupt any healing that is going on inside. She said the symptoms I describe are classic symptoms of a urine infection, and has started me on a course of antibiotics. If the problem does not improve in the next few days then it points to a different problem and she will examine me if needs be then.
Other than this,I do feel very well, just tired.I really am glad you are doing so well.
Heres to an uneventful recovery!

wee problem! please help

I had my surgery on the 18th of march and cath removed on the 19th. After being home for a week I called and asked about the same issues you are all talking about. My MD said it's normal and in laymans terms my bladder is ticked off and will be for a bit. Within the last few days it has all calmed down and is back to normal. I only get a twinge of pain every now and then but nothing bad. Lots of water and cranberry juice cranapple, crangrape) helped lot.
