Ten weeks post surgery - Core Strength

Hello Sisters,

I had physio for my back, hips and stomach on Wednesday. I was given useful exercises that I can do whilst lying down which strengthens all areas mentioned.

Whilst lying on one side, keep legs levels, bend knees but keep both feet together, now hold your pelvic floor for 5 seconds, increasing to 10 seconds, at same time open and close knees (with feet together) like scissors. Rest, then repeat twice. Do this on each side, morning and night.

It is not as easy as it sounds but already in just two days I have noticed an improvement.

My physio also advised me that if I go onto NHS website, type in search engine
fitness studio exercise videos - list -pilates - fibromyalgia (actually choose from 40 free videos) you can do at home until you feel strong enough to return to classes!
