Vaginal burning and estradiol cream

I could sure use some advice.
Almost three weeks ago, my dr increased my patches from .025 to 0.375.
I wanted to try the low dose because of breast soreness.
Anyway, the other symptoms I was having are gone, but for a couple of weeks I’ve had itching, burning and feeling like I’m wet in my vaginal area.
I went to a different gyn because mine is on vacation.
She took cultures which aren’t back yet, but said to either use vaginal estrogen or a strong steroid cream she ordered.
I’m going to try the estrogen cream.
I wonder if anyone else has had these symptoms.
The watery discharge has me confused.
Also, can vaginal estrogen cause you to have hyper symptoms or heart racing?

Re: Vaginal burning and estradiol cream

Did you get the results back yet from the cultures that were taken? It's good that you are being checked to rule out possible infections such as bacterial vaginosis, yeast, etc.

I've never had a systemic reaction to using vaginal estrogen but I've read in these forums that some do. I think it generally happens if systemic levels are low. If you increase your systemic levels through your usual hormone therapy then then vaginal estrogen should stay localized--at least that's my understanding.

Re: Vaginal burning and estradiol cream

To answer the question about racing heart with vaginal estrogen , it will still go though your blood stream as if you were either taking it orally or patch. The racing heart is because of the increase of Estrogen. Same happened to me when I increased my Premarin dosage , it was so annoying , finally subsided as my body got adjusted to a higher dose .
