anyone else's dh driving you crazy??

My dh is way freaked out about me having my surgery. He wants me to do the LSH. But the dr is not doing that. I have to do this the longer recovery way. he doesn't get that while, yes I would like to do it the easier way, it would bump my surg date because I would have to find another dr because this one will not do my surg that way. I have explained this in every way possible. I mean, sure, who wouldn't want less pain and suffering, but I do not want to change my date. I mean, I am 13 days away! I just want to get it done and be done with it. I really wish he would just get how I feel about the whole thing.

You doctor knows what is best for you and your body. I wanted the easy way too, but it just wasn't possible.. Keep your date and take care of yourself. If you trust your doctor, then do what he says, you don't want to go to some doctor that you don't know and won't do what's best for you. good luck.

Problem solved. ;-) Now just relax and if hubby keeps talking about it, just say "I love you" and then say I've made up my mind and I'm so thankful you will be here for me. You are such a sweet heart. Now tell me, how is he going to argue with that. thehehehehe

Hi (((Sandies))) I was born and raised in Jax. And yes, I had the LSH and I think my advice might surprise you. Go ahead and get the surgery that YOU want. In my mind they are basically the same except for the incision part.
Let your DH know that just because you get the "easier" surgery, doesn't mean your recovery will be easier. I did not go back to work for 2 months. I had a hematoma and terrible swelling that was actually at it's worst at 3 months PO. I believe that I had problems because my insides were under a great deal of pressure and all the poking and gas and shoving things around on already sore parts made things a little harder on me. But for me I was happier with the LSH choice.
Please tell your DH from me, an LSHer, that YOU need to figure out what makes you the most comfortable and go with that.

My very best wishes to you becoming a Princess!

As the other (((sister))) said, the only difference between the laprascopic surgery and the abdominal version is that there's no external incision. There are still just as many internal stitches to deal with.

Sometimes es report that the abdominal surgery recovery is actually easier to deal with in that they are reminded each day by the incision that they've actually had surgery.

You need to do what's best for you. Many ladies are not candidates for the LSH -- perhaps your dh doesn't know that. I'm wishing you all the best. Remember, we're all pulling for you!

I had a TAH, and it went fine. A friend of mine had a laparoscopic hyst earlier this year, and I swear she had more problems than I did with it. Don't worry about it.

I have heard that wiht the LSH there is a higher risk of bladder nerve injury. Also heard that you cannot do LSH if you have had a c-section. My cousin had LSH and my friend had regular surgery both so far have had same recover time. DO what is best for you and best wishes
