Biopsy question

Thank you so much everyone. I go in tomorrow for a biopsy and will ask the doctor then. I have a few questions and was debating whether to ask the questions tomorrow, or when I have my pre-op appointment. Do you guys think it matters?

Also, I'm having hubby go with me to the biopsy. This way, when I'm told things and ask questions, I have someone else to remember what the answers are! I think I'm a bit stressed and afraid I won't remember everything the doctor says. Has anyone else had their "significant other" go with to biopsy or pre-op appointment?

Hi There !!!
Once things were discovered that day, and I was sent for an immediate cat scan, my hubby left work and joined me and then was at every appointment from then on. I was so completely freaked out - and none of the folks running the tests could tell me anything.

I had to have a uterine biopsy the next day, and my husband came in and held my hand through it. Mine was very painful, as my tumor had pushed my cervix completely over, and the dr had a difficult time getting the exam equipment in. My husband asked lots of questions then, and still does. He went in while the staples came out, and will go in on Tuesday when I have the first internal exam since surgery. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I am usually a pretty strong person, but this got the best of me - and I am not ashamed to admit it. If it makes you feel better to have him in there - then go for it!!! My doctor didn't even blink an eye when I asked to have him in there, so I think he must have had that request many times before me.

Biopsy question

Thanks Mzmirzme! You totally make sense. I was chatting with a friend who would not bring her hubby, and when I told her that the doc's examine room didn't have a chair, she told me that they could bring one in. Although my friend wouldn't bring her hubby with her, I think she knew that my hubby would go with me. I'm glad you shared your experience.

I had fluid injected into my uterus for easier viewing of uterus before my surgery 4 years ago. It was bit painful - heavy cramping but still bearable. hubby was not there. I'm having an endometrial biopsy (I'm assuming same as uterine biopsy) so thanks for the forewarning. Do you think if I took Motrin beforehand, it would help?
I too am a strong person and usually don't need anyone around for help. However, I'm finding myself a bit stressed, nervous, anxious and scared about this entire process. Reading your experience has really helped. Thank you so much.

Tomorrow will be fine as I have my pre-op lab work to do at the hospital right after my biopsy. I will be thinking about that and all the questions I want to ask the doctor while he's performing the biopsy. If it's not one thing it's always something else, right?

Did you have your biopsy right before your surgery?
