Re: Scared

JKLanta says it all.
I had pretty much exactly same experiences. Mines was TAH as well.

Scared is a normal response - you'll be fine, ladies here are fabulous, There will always be someone here who has been there, done that and can help.

Good luck with everything, as I'm sure you'll now know, you'll have lots of positive thought with you. xxx

Re: Scared

I believe at some point we all were scared to death! I know i was!! I was up at 4am and ready to go while the rest of the family was still sleeping the day of my surgery....we didnt have to be at the hospital until 10am!! I just wanted to get in the car...andGO!! Get it over with!
By the time i was in pre-op., changed into my gown and in bed...the room filled up quickly with nurses..davinci team members..anesthesia doctor and his nurses...my DH and son talking to my oncologist surgeon...while the anethesiologist kept me busy talking to me while the iv's were put in...the last words i remember him saying was "piece of cake sara...see you in recovery". That was it!! What took 4 and a half hours seemed like seconds to me....next thing i knew i was being woke up and told..."its all over with".
So take a few deep breaths...trust your surgeon and his team...know others have gone before you and are waiting for you when you leave "the castle". Think positive friend!! It will be okay!!

Hi bigbrat
You are so lucky you found this site BEFORE your hyst. Its a really great site. Am 4 wks + 5 days post TAH. And am so glad I discovered the site on my day 5!

Hang in there, the worst part is the waiting part. Making positive affirmations\ declarations (such as " everything is working together for my good") helped me during the waiting period. Also it helps to have some company with you on the day of the surgery. My surgery was delayed for 3 hours but my bf and sister where with me. It helped me with the anxiety!

I definately feel better now than before the surgery!
Hugs, Woca
