Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Dec 16-Dec 22,2019

Hi friends!
We're 8 months out.
I am popping in for a couple reasons.
(1) I'm so grateful for healing & the ability to move. I ran my second marathon two days ago! And ran it faster than my first in fall 2017. I am having some ongoing issues related to my surgeries, but I'm thrilled nonetheless. I have a torn labrum in my hip possibly related to surgery & recovery. I want this to encourage any women reading this post in the future to believe things are possible post-hyst.
(2) I was looking for info on apps to track BBT (basal body temp). Sadly all I've found base ovulation off periods, well...that won't work. I've been BBT tracking for 3 months to more accurately test hormone blood levels. I've been on Prometrium for 4 months after being diagnosed with estrogen dominance. My levels showed estrogen high compared to progesterone, but also estrogen off the charts high. There is one Apple app (Caria) that will track. Sadly I'm on Android. Looks like I'll be making a good ol' Excel graph

I hope you are well & have reasons to be thankful today.

Hi all,

I haven’t posted in a long time because I pretty much had a easy recovery period with no issues. However I’m recognizing now that since the surgeon I’ve had a battle with keeping weight off( not sure if it’s related). Most recently I’ve been having issues with my hair breaking off. I didn’t consider it associated to surgery or post op because i have dreadlocks and it’s been over a year. It’s now happening so rapidly that I have to consider doing something different with my hair before it’s all gone.

Has anyone else experienced issues this long after surgery?

I am several years out and have no complications. Feeling great, menopause was a breeze, and still ecstatic that I got the surgery. Just thought I would share so others can see the end of the rainbow.

I was a nervous reck up to the moment I had my first bowel movement. I was afraid of the surgery, afraid how my insides would feel, and really nervous about bumps in the road for many months. But all went well and the nerves were for nothing.

I wish everyone a journey as smooth as mine.

So, 4 years and almost 2 months since I started this journey with you all. I am asking anyone who still looks here to pray.

I just received a thyroid cancer diagnosis. However, when they were doing the CT scans to confirm that it was just a thyroid, they found that I have a 5.4 cm cystic lesion on my right ovary. I had asked the doctor to take out my ovaries, but he said I was too young even though I had pre-cancerous cells in my uterus. Now, I’m hoping that it’s just the thyroid as that’s the most treatable cancer and that nothing crazy is going on with the ovaries that we’re already shriveled four years ago.
I am praying that all of you are having healthy and successful, recoveries and enjoying life.
Blessings to you all,
Tinker
