Please don't ever feel bad that you are not having the problems and pains some of us other sisters are!!! I know exactly how you feel thoughl... there have been so many times I have felt alone in my pains or issues... then to find out that I'm not, well, it's a relief and yet brings sadness at the same time. Because, yes, I don't want to be the only one.... but quite often I wish I was. Anyhow, just wanted to say "thanks" for your kind words, but please don't ever feel bad if you are not having problems. !!!!
On another note, thanks to everyone who has shown concern in my recent loss in my family... I just wanted to let everyone know that the words of comfort I have received have helped tremendously!!! I am handling things well... and following everyone's advice: I am focusing on healing!
I can honestly say that today is the first day that I woke up without major pain. I'm still having to take my pain meds at night... otherwise I get absolutely NO sleep whatsoever... if I can get through this.... ANYBODY can! I'm a big wimp when it comes to pain. Good luck to everyone! I love you gals
Again, thank you very much. I'm sure y'all are probably getting tired of hearing it, but I couldn't have done it without everyone's help here.

Chris,
The laying around and doing nothing is soooo nerve-wracking isn't it? I had a crying spell a couple of times feeling like I was neglecting things, and I hate asking for help. I see you had surgery the same day as me. It still hurts a bit to sit up, so I keep laying down for and hour and then sitting up for 1/2 an hour. This is a lot of progress for me. I feel so much better when I'm up.
Good Luck
Lorie

You shoud call the doctor and let him or her know about it.. You dont want an infection. That would not be good.

So, I was up until 5 am this moring with major pain. I haven't had pain for several days so I broke down and took a pain pill. I feel like crap today and am having some spotting. I ate out yesterday for the first time and I think I ate too much. I think it caused the gas and abdominal pain. I WON'T be doing that again. I think I am going to go back to the simi liquid diet. My husband is having a get together tonight with several people coming over. If he thinks I am cleaning or cooking anything he is CRAZY! I am so tired I can't even function. I think I am just going to go back to bed AND NEVER EAT CHINESE AGAIN!!!

blue moon
i don't understand the no walking part. they told me walk walk walk.... my steri strips have come off also where my incision looks kinda nasty i put band aid across to hold together just in case . i have been drinking a cup of prune juice with applesauce stirred into it and it has really helped like within an hour or so. who would have thought grown women so excited about going to the bathroom.....heheh it takes so little to make us happy if men had just figured it out years ago..lolololol
i have found that ibuprofen has worked the best for my pain but everyone is different just take care of yourself and don't overdo

Not sure. I had no bleeding or spotting right after surgery but then I started spotting on day 5 or was it 6. I don't remember now. So they said slow down the walking. Then yesterday on Day 7 ... they said only absolutely necessary walking as they want the spotting to slow down. I am confused. I think I have too many doctors all wanting to control what is going on and not wanting to share info with each other. UGH! Why can't they all just get along????

i have been walking some but no marathons or anything but i had no bleeding at all after my surgery and i was shocked i mean i realize they took all that out so i guess there really isn't anything left there to bleed. i work in a hospital and we find that a lot of patients have more than one doctor and they never communicate with each other, that is a big problem sometimes with our geriatric patients especially. but for now i would listen to your body first and foremost it tells us what we need to know most of the time we just need to stop long enough to listen.
i hope you feel better soon

Thanks Lorie - I think it just seems harder for me because my DH is a wheelchair user, and my kids are so little (9 and 2) and I just have ALWAYS been the physical provider - so being unable to pick up and cuddle my daughter, and not do all the other stuff that I do is driving me insane - My brain says I should be able to do all this stuff and my body is revolting - I feel a little better today - just the low right side pain - not quite sure what that is from, but clearly it's because I over did it on Thursday. I figured out yesterday that sitting in the recliner is NOT comfortable, and I can't get the foot rest down myself - I got *stuck* there until DH came home from getting the little one at daycare, and last night was just awful -
