TAH in military hospital vs civilian hospital

I am scheduled for a TAH next Tuesday in a military hospital -- my husband is active duty Army. My friends have asked me why I don't just go to a civilian hospital around here for my surgery. I am confident with the surgeon on base and feel that everything will go well. Are any of you military and had your hysterectomy in a military hospital?

Hi!

I'm also an Army wife and I had my surgery in a military hospital last year. I had a great experience and I loved my surgeon! The nurses were wonderful and I felt very much like a princess while I was there.

I'm glad you have confidence in your doctor. That's very important. I felt very at ease and comfortable with my doctor and very lucky to have had him do my surgery.

I wish you the best with your upcoming surgery!

Hi armywife96;

I am also a military wife. I had my surgery at a military hospital and was very pleased with my doctors and nurses and everyone in-between. I had civilian nurses as well as military nurses. All wonderful!

I had a wonderful "staff" and could not hand picked them better myself!

The only bad thing, the food! *gag* (But, I think it is "bad" just about everywhere! )

I agree with Deb. If you have confidence in your doctor then put your worries aside!

Best wishes to you!
