Hysterectomy in 2 weeks: Help save me from myself!

Two weeks to the date away from changing my life FOREVER! I can barely stand it!!! I'm counting down the days and awaiting the arrival of my mommy to come and help my DH take care of me and the kids. Insomnia is a beast. Every thought and conversation is about the surgery. My bag has been packed since last Thursday. I'm going crazy trying to be patient and control my anxiety. I can't bore myself enough because I know that there are going to be plenty of days during recovery where I'll find myself bored out of my mind.

Re: Help save me from myself!

Oh I feel your pain, I am 10 days away from my date and feel exactly the same. Insomnia as well. My mind is consumed by it. We are even moving this week but despite the packing and cleaning I've been doing this past week nothing is taking the thought from my mind. Best of luck sister, our "time" will come soon. One day at a time we can do it together

Re: Help save me from myself!

I hear ya! I am one week away, and it is on my mind constantly! I am trying to stay busy with work and I've been working out about 2 hours a day. I will be moving a few weeks after surgery, so I've been trying to stay busy with all of that preparation. It WILL be behind us eventually!! Hang in there!

Re: Hysterectomy in 2 weeks: Help save me from myself!

in there. Soon, the waiting will be over. Soon, your new quality of life will begin. Soon, soon, soon The time leading up to your surgery date is the hardest, but you will get through it.

I was sooooo ready for my surgery, but as much as I was ready, there still were a couple of times that I questioned myself, but then I would get a reminder of why I had to have the surgery in the first place. My last reminder came two weeks before surgery, while standing in the checkout line at Target. I looked down and I was gushing all over the floor. As I left, leaving behind yet another crime scene, I knew that I wouldn't change my mind.

I don't think I barely slept at all the night before my surgery. I was so early for check in that it was ridiculous lol.

Know that everyone is different and each recovery is different. My recovery was fairly easy, with no major problems. Don't get me wrong, there were some not so good days, but the good outweighed the bad by far and my pain was manageable. Best of all, my quality of life has improved tremendously.

So, hold on just a little while longer. Your better quality lies just ahead
