i'm scared (fibroids)

Hey Lynn

Try not to worry, I know easier said than done. There are a lot of horror stories out there, but there are many more success stories.

I worried too, and none of them came true....I am a lot older than you (48), and am not taking any hormones (found ovarian cancer) and I feel great. I had about a dozen of those nasty fibroids, but nothing like yours. I say get rid of them and be able to enjoy life again. I know, it's not an easy decision, but fibroids tend to come back with other procedures.

The swelly belly is different for everyone..mine wasn't bad. I fit into my regular clothes, even jeans within 2 weeks and lost weight once the IV fluids were gone. The biggest thing is REST, but try to walk as much as you can too to keep things moving.

It won't be as bad as you think...and you can always come here for as much support as you need...there's no such thing as silly questions here

You hang in there sweetie....it'll be okay!!

i'm scared (fibroids)

Originally the Doc performed a TVH then turned around due to complications and had to go back in abdominally. I'm about a day over 1 week Post Op and just about back to normal size again. Miss Swelly Belly wasn't going to get ME down! I'm healing in "record" time according to my Dr after yesterday's Post Op Follow-up visit...during which he, also, referred to me as his "Miracle Child"...NOTHING on this planet could get me down now...least of all a little pooch! *smile from ear to ear*

Keeping you in my thoughts and

Blessings,
La Donna

Answering your post Re:scared-fibroids.

To Lynn Cambell:
Hi,I'm patybear.I had a S.A.H. August 19th due to
a fibroid.It was as if I was 5-6 months pregant.From what I under-
stand, fibroids are very rarely cancerous. If you are keeping your
ovaries(I did),you may not need to take hormones.So far,I haven't
needed them.Talk to your doctor.
