BEST Pre-Op and Post-Op advice I received
The best pre-op and post-op advice I received here on Hystersisters was to WALK, WALK AND WALK SOME MORE! After surgery, there is gas. Walking is the best thing you can do for yourself to help relieve the discomfort from the gas. I walked the halls at the hospital as much as I could. The worst thing is to stay in bed too much. After going home, try to do more walking--even if only to walk around the inside of your house.

Drinking water helps with constipation/gas issues, too.

I agree with drinking a lot of water. Also, try to stay away from carbonated beverages. Fruit juices are an excellent substitute for colas.
