Hi ladies..hope you're having a good day
Just got home from my pre-op...that I went to alone because my husband bailed on me "can't leave work"..so I went alone.
In total it lasted 2 hours..45 mins with the pre-op nurse who went over my history, answered questions I had (yes, I'm definitely having the LAVH), no nailpolish on toes or fingers...(darn, there goes my spa day this weekend!)..and best part..NO body cleanse the day before!
I do have to wash with a special "mediciney" scrub before I leave to go to the hospital and they will use clippers on me ..no shaving to prevent knicks or cuts (infection).
And then I had the medical tests.
Because of my low blood, and the possibility of a transfusion, they did a blood cross typing..so that means I get to wear a beautiful hospital bracelet for the next 8 days until my surgery is over. Strict orders not to remove it as the 2 ID numbers on it will match the blood set aside for me during surgery. If I go in with it removed, no surgery as they'll have to do a cross type again...(and I'm in trouble...)
So came home..and guess what? I'm alone again..
see a theme here? (yes, I'm whining...)but today I was really looking for family support..so I laid out all the surgery papers on the kitchen table..and they can read them when they have "time"..and then they will be getting a talking to.
