Anyone else get sick more often?

Hi Ladies
Its been 7 mos for me and I am now coming down with my second cold. I used to only get sick maybe once a yr but now it seems I get everything and anything, I've also had a stomach bug too. Not too mention I am pretty sure I have an infection in my vagina, it hurts like I have sand in it. I had a TAH and am only on pregesterone creme. Whats going on? Anyone else seem to catch every bug that goes around?

Anyone else get sick more often?

I know that I have had two major colds and a stomach bug since my surgery in November. I used to never really get sick before...hopefully it will get better soon. I am taking blackelderberry pills now since they are supossed to 'boost' your immunity...hope they help...

It seems that every little germ out there now invades!

Anyone else get sick more often?

It's been 8 months for me and yes I think my immune system is down and I get sick at the drop of a hat. I was sick from December to the middle of January with whatever flu was going around. I get colds and sinus infections and headaches and other stuff that I would only get certain times of the year more often. It's not just you. I also notice that even after 8 months the lower part of my abdomin is still sensitive and tender and the top part is not, it feels normal.

Glad its not just me

I'm glad to hear its not just me. I am starting to think not only did they take my uturus and ovaries, but they took my immune system too!! I never used to get this sick. I take vitamins every day, eat fairly good, get enough rest...I wonder if its just our immune system takes a long time to get back up since surgery?

Anyone else get sick more often?

lugrad:
Did you have a bikini cut? My soreness is just the opposite, but I had a vertical cut... My top part of abdomen, can hardly touch, but down below, I can push on all day.

Anyone else get sick more often?

I think it is that my immune system took such a huge hit and just isn't back into the swing of things yet. Hopefully it will get better as I heal. (I also have fibromalygia which is why I am healing so slow) My dr says I am on the downhill slide now that I am six months out

Anyone else get sick more often?

I wonder if its because our bodies are busy trying to heal from surgery and that drops our immune system down for fighting off viruses? This has been the only surgery I have ever had and plan to have unless its life threatening! I never realized what a toll it took on my body. I hope and pray that a year from now I can feel better than I ever have in my life.
