Post hysterectomy abdominal pain from ovarian debulking

Hi everyone, Recovery day #13. Yesterday received my diagnosis: BORDERLINE STAGE 3A OVARIAN CANCER. According to the doctor this is the best we could have hoped for in what appeared to be a bad situation. Will require monitoring every 3 months indefinitely. No chemo recommended at this time. Whew!! I am also experiencing abdominal pain and wondering if it’s from the ovarian debulking procedure they had performed.....anyone out there with similar experience? Any good sources that you know of on borderline ovarian cancer?

Abdominal pain is quite common the first few weeks after a hysterectomy given the work done.

At this point, take anti inflammatory meds and put your feet up for a moment.

Between 2/3 weeks most tend to resume activities and over do it.
Your body will let you know when it happens

I had a different type of cancer but wanted to send some hugs and positive thoughts your way as you continue recovery. Unfortunately, pain can be part of the process and could be from either part of your procedures or a combination thereof. If you aren't getting adequate pain management or if you are concerned, you can always run things by your doc, just to be sure and so everyone is on the same page. After all, that's what they're there for!

Hopefully, someone with a similar diagnosis to yours will be along to help with those specifics. In the meantime, you can try some searches here on our forum to find previous discussions which might be helpful (borderline ovarian, etc.).
