They changed my surgery date!

I was supposed to go on the 21st for my surgery and they called today to tell me to be there the 20th instead. My mom and dad got in a fight about who was gonna be there with me. Guess they worked it out. I am really nervous and have some anxiety about this even though I know this is what is best. My husband keeps telling me there is nothing to worry about and it is making me mad and sad. I know he doesn't understand since he has NEVER had surgery. But it still hurts. Countdown begins now. 35 hours and some change.

Re: They changed my surgery date!

Just think, you are 1 day closer to the other side! Once I got there I wondered what took me so long-stinkin nerves! You will do absolutely fine and your husband will come around. Mine was the same way, never had surgery and not at all sensitive about my anxiety. He is much better post op and I'm sure yours will be too. I had the same surgery you are having and I cannot believe how easy my recovery has been so please keep the faith. I am keeping you in my prayers.

Re: They changed my surgery date!

It is very normal to be nervous and emotional regarding this surgery. It is MAJOR SURGERY. Of course you are concerned. You are having your uterus removed ... this is a BIG DEAL. It can be really hard for people not in the situation to understand - even DH's can be clueless at times. We are with you sweetie, we know how you feel and we really understand. Just get on this site and vent and express your feelings. We will help you through this..

That is actually kinda sweet that your parents are fighting over who gets to stay with you....

I love Marestail. Her posts always remind me why I am still sane. Without these wonderful ladies I would have lost it by now.

Good luck hyster sister!!! See you on the other side.

Re: They changed my surgery date!

Ya it is. They decided my mom would be there for my surgery and my dad would drive up for a few days after the first few. To help with the kids cause my husband works 60 hour weeks. I love that I have a supportive family.

Re: They changed my surgery date!

He may be quite concerned and doesn't want you to know as that would cause you to worry more..... Guys deal with stress differently than women do.
