Allen Masters Syndrome? Anyone know anything?!

I had surgery sept 4th. Thinking my uterus had attached itself again to my abdominal wall. Well.... Went in and it was not attached. In fact, its backwards and tipped. He thinks that my uterus is sitting on my blood vessels and nerves and that is what is causing the pain. Did some biopsies too and they came back abnormal. So a few options... One-Pill to put me into early menopause and see if that helps. No guarantee that my uterus would come back to have kids. So, not a good option in my mind. 2- Try a pill that numbs my bladder and has anti inflamatories to see if that would help. Started that yesterday and Nada.. I'm more sore from them! 3-Reverse my uterus and tip and see if that is part of it. But, something with the ligament and kids is not a good idea either. I would have a hard pregnancy if that ligament was broke. 4-Hysterectomy.... Not an option he is just going to up and do seeing i am 24 and no guarantee that it will help with the pain.

So, i am in a rock and a hard place right now. Sick of pills and being in pain. I lost my job last year from all this! It's going on a year and its getting OLD!!!

If anyone has heard of the Allen-Masters Syndrome it would be wonderful to talk or to find out if i can look for newer information (goes back to 1955 and hardly any new research)
Please feel free to ask questions if you need to! i am a well of information right now!!

I am sorry you are in such a tough spot.

Have you sought a second opinion since your surgery? Have you talked to a fertility specialist about the best options that could preserve or provide fertility?

The decision you are making is not one you want to make lightly and you will want to weigh the pros and cons for each choice. I would strongly recommend a second opinion before making your final decision. Have another doctor look over the surgical reports and your medical history and see what s/he might suggest.

You have stated the pill with the anti-inflammatory is not working. One thing to keep in mind is sometimes meds need to be in your system for a period of time before they are affective. The anti-infammatory I take needs to be in your system for about two weeks before you see optimal results. So you may need to give the medication time to work. You may also need to try a variety of meds as we are all different and not all meds work the same for all people. My mother does not like the anti-inflammatory I take and I do not like the one she takes! Hers doesn't work for me and mine didn't work for her! So give your body time to respond to the meds.

Medications that put you in pseudo menopause generally affect your ovaries. You will want to talk to your doctor about how you will deal with any possible menopause symptoms that may occur with this type of treatment as well as how you will protect your heart, bones, skin, eyes, etc. The hormones produced by your ovaries aid in your overall health so you need to consider your overall health when looking into an option that will shut down your ovaries.

We do have members on the site with Allen-Masters so you might want to do a site search to find their threads.

I wish you all the best and hope you and your medical team can find a treatment option that is right for you! in there! s
