For the DR's and Nurses out there: Do People say silly things when they are UNDER?
Okay... so I just started thinking.. OMGoodness, what happens if I say something silly or sappy to my DR or the nurses when I'm under... like I've always thought my DR was good lookin'.. I would DIE if he knew that... so what if I SAID that while I was all doped up....
Anyone in the medical field ever experience people saying silly things when they are under.. or going under?
Come on... I'm sure you have.. .give us all a chuckle...

This very subject keeps me awake at night!
I had some surgery on my breasts awhile back and I do remember coming out of it and I just knew that the nurses were talking about me - so I asked them, kinda meanly - "what did you just say? What are you saying?" Like my feeble, operated on body was going to get up and take on 2 nurses
I'm crossing everything crossable that I find a way to keep my mouth shut tomorrow!!

Here's A Chuckle. . .
You asked if anyone knew of silly things said coming out of anesthesia. Well, a good friend of mine had a colonoscopy recently, and she became quite a comic thanks to massive doses of Verced. Apparently, she told the nurses the following joke:
So, this bird is talking to this worm. The worm asks the bird, "You look hungry. Are you going to eat me?" to which the bird replies, "No, I don't even like worms". Then the word looks at the bird and says, "You wouldn't **** me, would you?"
Think about it. The nurses are still laughing and marveling at her wit. HA!

I had surgery once (on my face) and I kept saying "I want Tickle Me Elmo". (this was back when that toy was popular). I wanted him for christmas...but I don't know what they thought I meant. lol

My 22 year old daughter came out of anesthesia singing "I feel pretty, oh so pretty". We had a good laugh over that one!!

I remember my last surgery I was in recovery & "woke up" to my own voice talking about putting my dog in the washing machine!
I need to tell them to put earplugs in my ears, If I am gonna say something stupid, at least be kind and keep ME from hearing it!

I always thought the same thing before my surgery. I also have a cute doc and my best friend said the way I would know if I said something about him was to look at his face when he came to my room the first time post-op. If he's smiling (she said), that means you said something "positive" about him! I told her that we had to stop talking about him or it would happen for sure. I don't remember anything from the Recovery Room. The first thing I remember is opening my eyes in my room and seeing my sister sitting in the chair. I told her she should go to work because I would probably be sleeping all day. She told me not to expect to see my doc that day because he had 4 or 5 surgeries after me--and mine was 3 hours instead of 2. He was late for my surgery because he had to deliver a baby. When he came in to see me the next day, he said he heard I was up and walking around and... did I want to go home? I told him I didn't think I was ready because I was still pretty weak. I stayed another day. Of course, my best friend thinks it was because I didn't want to leave (the doc). I was tempted to ask him if I talk in my "sleep" (anesthesia).
PS He is also a compassionate type and that was important to me when I found out I had cancer. Although he referred me to a Gyn-Oncologist, he told me that I could call him anytime. I was referred back to him after I was told I didn't need chemo.
