How soon can I return to work after LSH?

ok so now I am worried!, I was told that I would only need to be out 2weeks and could return to work as a nurse at a hospital with no restrictions at all. should I be re-thinking the 2 weeks??? My surgery is a LSH on 12/20/07

Thanks
Deb

You will probably be fine. I was back on Day 10 (I'm a teacher, so a lot of standing/walking, but no lifting). I was cleared for everything at the 2 week mark. Just listen to your body. I did go home at midday on my first two days back. Just a thought.
Best of luck

thanks Klgm! that really helps, everyone I work with says I should not be surprised if I need a little bit longer. I think I am just getting anxious with it getting closer. You would think that being a nurse would make me less anxious, but it is a little different being on the other side of the fence!

Thanks For the Reply

its so hard to plan things like this in advance when you just dont know how fast you'll heal. i was able to go to work after a few days but i had absolutely no pain and no problems...and i wasnt on my feet and didnt lift anything. i was cleared for everything except heavy lifting at 2 weeks. hopefully you will be able to go back after two weeks but if you need to, take longer. i hope everything goes smoothly for you.
