Family Has No Clue about the help I'll need after hysterectomy

Striving19 my heart goes out to you I hope that you find a friend or a church member or coworker to help out as well as ur son. But remember cheers worries are real for her too. My surgery is next wed I have 3 teen boys 2 with special needs and my boyfriend so this should be interesting for me a well. I'm praying for a quick recovery for all us girls xoxo

It does sound like they don't truly understand that this is a major surgery... maybe if you showed them the list of restrictions after surgery they would understand more...

Its kind of hard sometimes if you aren't going to have a huge incision on the outside for everyone to see the wound and go.. ouch, that looks like it hurts...

hopefully you can find some resources to make them understand more.

I hope you get this all figured out before surgery... if nothing else, once you are home from the hospital your family will see how you are doing and pitch in and help...

For when is yr surgery planned? Am also a single parent. My daughter 16 yo took care of me when i got back home. Today is my 2 week mark n am healing well. I had TAH incl removal of both ovaries n cervix.
