Should I be having sharp pelvic pain 4+ months post hysterectomy?

I'm hoping someone might be able to give me more ideas on what I might have done. 2 & 6 week post-ops were great and was given the green light to resume normal activities. About 2-1/2 months post-op we had to evacuate due to a wildfire... which meant hooking up travel trailer and horse trailer to our trucks plus loading 3 young horses, 3 Labradors, and 3 cats.

A few days afterwards, I started getting a sharp pain in my pelvic area close to where the stiches were. (I had a vaginal hysterectomy). My doctor did another physical exam and did not notice anything. I've had a CT-scan w/ contrast and it showed nothing... which is good but still no answers.

It hurts to lift my legs to drive or cross when I'm sitting, no pain during intercourse but if I have an orgasm I hurt for days afterwards, it hurts to laugh again... pretty much I feel like I'm stuck at 1-2 weeks post-op pain but have the blessing from my doctor to do normal activities.

Has anyone else had anything like this happen to them? I'm frustrated on what is going on.

and maybe! Is the pain you're having intermittent, noticeable with certain activities, or more continuous?

If it's intermittent or related to specific activities, it may still be part of healing. You may have been released months ago, but the road to full recovery takes 4, 6 months or longer, something I didn't fully by into either until I had more time behind me as well. I would get cramps and swelling beyond my release date whenever I did more than my body was ready for. Sometimes it was activity specific, like power washing the front porch or shoving a 24-pack of soda over my head on a high shelf. One time it was an 18-hour day of working, driving, attending an outdoor concert and driving back home. Last time at the mat with those symptoms was after kicking up the intensity of a core routine, and that happened at 5 months. Until we're fully healed, we can still trigger inflammation. It's possible that the wildfire evacuation was more than your body was ready to handle, and since then other similar activities have also caused a similar result.

One thing some women have had success with for lingering pelvic pain is pelvic floor therapy. Has your doctor suggested this avenue?

I'm also wondering if you have nerve issue - pinched nerve or so, since it may be more than intermittent with you. It unfortunately happens to some women. It may be worth getting a referral to a neurologist or pain specialist.

Keep us update on your progress. I'm hoping some others may have additional ideas.
