2 week post-hysterectomy just started bleeding

TLH-BOC August 5th. I had minor discharge, but not bloody, now all of a sudden this morning it is. Is this common, or something someone else has experienced? I'd expected some of this initially and it'd taper off, but not an unexpected start of it.

That was my same experience. For two weeks, nothing, and then I spotted and bled until nearly week 8. I had one spot that just healed a little slower than the rest.

Unless you are experiencing large blood clots or soaking a maxi pad in an hour, bleeding and spotting during recovery is completely normal. Some women experience it only when they overdo it - others experience it even when they’re doing little more than resting all of the time. It can be yellow to pink to bright red to dark brown. It may have an earthy, metallic odor - as a result of the healing process.

I had the same thing happen. No spotting at first and then it started at 2.5 weeks. Others on this site said it is more than likely part of the healing process.

Yes, it can come and go more than once. Your tissues are starting to bind together, and your stitches will dissolve - a lot of changes, and spotting or bleeding can restart. Mindy Lee gave you the general guidelines, so just monitor as you're doing.
