6wks post-op. I had my period for 105 days before my surgery and all the way up to them rolling me into the surgery room. This did not seem whatsoever for them to even blink an eye. I had DVh and my recovery went awesome! No complications, pain or anymore bleeding ever, it has been the best thing EVER!!!. I wish you all the best and as I said to myself after my surgery "I was all worried for nothing" Good luck

I am in the same boat!! Surgery is 1/18 and I just started this morning after not having one for about 3 months. I am in so much pain that I don't think I am going to get very much done today!

Good Luck to all of you with upcoming surgery!

Re: period started and surgery in 3 days?

I was instructed NOT to take Advil or Aspirin - might encurage bleeding. Instead I was allowed to take naproxen (Aleeve, Motrin) aside from Percocet (which I could not take because it makes me nauseous). Make sure to ask doctor about medication. Best wishes !

Motrin is ibuprofen, not naproxen.

Re: period started and surgery in 3 days?

I started my period about an hour before they wheeled me in. One last hurrah, I guess. Not a problem for my surgeon.
