Pre-Admitting Appt

Hi All,
Just got a call from admitting about my pre-op appt (Thurs. 22nd March). Hope I remember what to ask -- gotta start writing stuff down. Everyone's right -- waiting is hard -- plays on you mentally. I think my brain is trying to do me in. I think I'll feel better once the pre-op is done (bloodwork, etc.). Of course then I'll be less than a week away from the actual surgery! I wish I had internet at home (rural living comes with pros and cons); I won't be able to keep in touch until I'm back at work mid-May. In the meantime I'll be around until March 23 then its off to the castle on the 28th (our spring break starts March 23). Thanks for letting me babble.

My pre-op is a week from today, and surgery the week after that. I just keep praying that I won't get sick. My hubby's had some sort of respiratory crud, but he's over it now, and folks I work with have been sick. I would just hate to postpone! My surgery date is THE perfect time, because we're on spring break beginning end of business on the 23rd, and it's slower at work. Plus, I need to be well enough to travel (fly to New Jersey) for my son's USGG graduation on May 4th (doctor has ok'd as long as no complications during surgery, and as long as someone else carries my luggage).

You're right...the waiting will make you nuts! Have you had your last visit from Aunt Flo? Mine started on 3/9, but it was a weird period. So much lighter than they have been, and lasting less days. Almost as if my body knew it was losing parts soon, LOL.

Hey Wistful, I did have my last (hopefully) on March 6 so I'm pretty close to another one by the time of surgery. I'm also paranoid about getting sick as I work in a high school library; the students are always coughing/sneezing onto the computers and counters, etc. I've been pretty good about washing up though as I have a sink in my office. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for your recovery so that you'll make that graduation! Good luck.

Oh.....the 'crud' is going around my office & I'm wearing a garlic necklace (lol) to ward it off. I know my resistance is down due to lack of sleep which doesn't help. Wake up at night thinking of all I need to do to be prepared and just thinking about the big day in general! Had pre-op today, that was a breeze! Good luck March Maidens!
