pelvic congestion???
Saw my gyn. last week after having an ultrasound. I noticed on my chart as I was leaving it said I had adneymosis(sp?), prolapse and pelvic congestion. I knew about the first 2, but not really sure what "pelvic congestion" means. Anybody know?
Thanks,
Donna

pelvic congestion???
Hi Donna,
Pelvic congestion syndrome is a condition that is similiar to varicose veins in the legs. It occurs when the valves in the veins that help blood flow toward the heart do not work properly. As a result, blood pools in the veins and the veins in the affected body parts stretch and bulge. The organs affected by pelvic congestion syndrome include the uterus, ovaries, and vulva.

pelvic congestion???
Deb,
Thanks for answering my question. I was lying in bed last night thinking about all of this and thought wonder what pelvic congestion is. So, I thought I'll just ask someone on the message board. Someone will know the answer. I remember the dr. saying something about varicose veins, but I guess it didn't register. I have a prolapsed uterus (the reason my dr. sent me to the gyn.). Since going to see him, I have been told I have a 3rd degree cysterole(sp), 2nd degree prolapsed uterus (only 2nd because it is sitting on top of my bladder and can't slide down any farther), and mild recterole(sp?), now I also have adneymosis and a severly tilted uterus. AND pelvic congestion. Shoo..... I was a little worried maybe a hysterectomy wasn't needed. But I think perhaps it is.
