Re: In terrible pain after ablation

I am so sorry about your experiences! I had an oblation in November 2010, and I ended up having my cycles ever two weeks for at least 8 days....so I went from bad to worse. The pain was horrible, and I was anemic from losing blood. I lived on pain killers and anti depressants. The mood swings were horrendous as my body never regulated. I finally had a hyster on april 29. I feel better, I really do. Ultimately its always a scary process, but take time to make sure its right for you.

Re: In terrible pain after ablation

Thanks Karen. It will be so nice to have this behind me. I am still bleeding too. It got lighter for about a week and yesterday the cramping started again and it got a bit heavier again. Good luck with your follow up. Shadow so glad to hear you are feeling better.

Re: In terrible pain after ablation

Karen, I had the same fears due to adhesions from my 2 previous c-sections. Of course every case is different, but I have to tell you getting the hysterectomy was the best thing I've ever done. I have ZERO regrets. I did have a bit of a rough time after, not going to sugar coat it. However, I am now at a point after 10 long yrs of adenomyosis that I am finally FREE from pain, heavy bleeding, exhaustion etc. I am finally living life, not watching from the sidelines wishing I felt better. Whatever you decide, I wish you the very best!

Re: In terrible pain after ablation

I wanted to share what I just learned at my follow up visit at my GYN's office this past week. My doctor was extremely honest in telling me that he believes that the hysterscope used on me was actually contaminated, which explains the infection I am just getting rid of! Apparently one of my doctor's other patients who had ablation the same day I did was infected also. The morning of our procedures, the hospital told my doc that they had limited hysterscopes due to contamination. He believes it is too much of a coincidence to have two patients on the same day that became infected and the hospital was concerned about contaminated hysterscopes that same day. UGH. I don't think there is much that can be done but just wanted to tell people so they are aware that this sort of thing happens...

Re: In terrible pain after ablation

Hi Everyone,

I have had a similar experience. HAd an ablation end of March. Mid May I satrted having excrutiating pain on both sides of my abdomen and then bled for nearly 5 weeks. Went to A&E to be told that it is normal!!! I don't think so. Pushed and pushed and now the Dr will fit me in before clinic on Tues 28th. Thank heavens I'm not going mad like I thought I was. Thanks for your posts they are really helpful.
