Had my "going away" party

This weekend my girlfriends got together to give my uterus (aka Eunice) a going away party. It was fun, we had lots of chocolate desserts. We played pin the fibroids on the uterus and my friend knitted me a new uterus complete with fallopian tubes. She wanted me to have a new, cuddly uterus that wont cause me anymore trouble. Dr. Oz just happend to have an episode about hysterectomies the day before the party, so my friend taped it and some of us watched the show. Everyone got a big kick out of my knitted uterus (I think she got pattern on Knitty.com). It was comic relief and just what I needed. If someone suggests a girls night out or a party, take them up on it. It was something new for all of us, the the turn out was great and people thought it was a great idea. Why not make lemonade out of lemons!! I can't wait for my pre op appt on March 17th so I can show my gyno my new knitted uterus. I think I'm going to take it with me to the hospital. Oh, I did try to make uterus shaped cookies complete with M & M fibroids, but when the sugar cookies baked, they expanded and distored the uterus shape. They ended up lookling like round cookies with M & M's.

Re: Had my "going away" party

That is too darling. Your friend could start her own "Eunice" business. I bet a lot of us would love to have a knitted "ute".. So glad you had fun!! Best wishes for a smooth surgery!!
