3 years post Total Hysterectomy (still have ovaries) In Pain

Want to know any advice. For the last couple of years been having sharp pains in my right ovary. Within the last few months, the pains have been worse almost like the ovary is twisting. Especially when I stretch after a workout. I had a cyst that grew from 4 to 7 centimeters and is now back to 4 again on the right ovary. My Dr. has been doing several ultrasounds every 6 weeks and I've been taking Advil for the pain however, I can not take the pain this last episode had me down for a full day. Has anyone else had this type of issue so long after surgery? And if so what was your outcome, I don't want to search the web because it will just freak me out. Also 3 weeks ago had full-on PMS no bleeding put fatigue, tender breasts, and bloating.

Although you're not yet to the point of surgery, you're more likely to get input from our Sisters who had issues with their ovaries after their hysterectomies. I don't have any personal insight, but wanted to share the experience of a friend of mine.

You're already dealing with ovarian cysts, and that could indeed be the source of your pain. Since cysts often resolve on their own, doctors may take a watch and wait approach before suggesting pain management or surgery - it's really dependent upon symptoms, and it sounds like yours are interfering with your life activities. There is a condition known as ovarian torsion where the ovary twists, and a larger ovarian cyst can cause that to happen. A former coworker, also about 3 years past her hysterectomy, was experiencing more and more abdominal pain, cysts were ruled out, and she was fearful her endometriosis had returned. Her doctor decided to take a look via laparoscopy, found her ovary had twisted, and was able to correct it in the same procedure (no endo was noted). She was back to work a week later.

Keep a log of your pain and what may exacerbate it, but go ahead and call your doctor. If your ovary is twisted, it's something you don't want to wait to address.

Cussette bless you. My pcm said that the obgyn would most like need to take a peek inside. It had me freak out mode. This reassures me.

Trena i have had several small cysts. I have felt the pain but after a day or two its gone this time its been forever and I am super nauseated and feel like crap. The pain keeps me up. I hope things are going better for you now.
