down under?

Okay. Very cool. Panda? In Australia? This hysterectomy business gives a whole new meaning to the words "down under", huh?!

Welcome, Panda. Some others have implied a certain beverage helps them to sleep...Not sure if the Rx ibuprofen should be mixed with these beverages. ???? Hope you are recovering with lots of good care from loving people around you.

Sleepless

I had my LAVH 2 wks ago today. I feel that my recovery is going well, not too much pain, just everything I do makes me exhausted -- and I can't sleep! Went 40 hours on 2 short naps. I have tried all my usual cures for insomnia, nothing is working!

Fancyme, my Dr. told me that the longer you have a catheter, the greater the chances of irritation to the urethra and bladder. I had mine in for just over 2 days and a week later, I decided I needed to get checked for a UTI. It was just beginning and we caught it in its early stages.

Stephanie, if you are peeing a lot and there is a good amount of fluid, you could just be keeping yourself very hydrated. Is it discolored or clear-ish? If you are having bladder spasms with it, you should maybe call your Dr. For some reason, these things escalate on Friday afternoons after the Dr's office is closed. Phooey!

I don't seem to have an spasms and the color is clear or normal color. I have been drinking alot so you are probably right I am really hydrated. I have my follow up on Monday so if something changes I will at least already have a dr. appt.

Thanks

Two and 1/2 weeks out of surgery...
Yesterday my doc released me to DRIVE! YIPPEEE!!! I ran some errands today (one being to pick up my pathology report - what gibberish!) and feel just fine. No problems. The only slightly uncomfortable part, is twisting to do the 'head checks' to make sure no one is behind, or next to me. But not painful.
I feel great, but I don't have my full energy back. I am planning on going back to work next week (easing in on a part time basis).
My only real complaint is the hot flashes. Its hot enough outside, and these sure don't help

The worse mistake I made in my marriage is to buy my man a TV to put in our bedroom.... I really appreciate it when I am sick in bed, but not when I am fighting insomnia and my DH finds a good movie to watch just as I begin to drift off to slumberland. OH Well... He has been a prince throughout this whole deal, I guess I can wait an hour for this show to end.

I hope the rest of you get some sleep tonight. Wolfgang... you are my hero. I am praying for you.

Ugh - insomnia. I've got a touch of that too. I'm also sorry that it's not a show you want to watch .
Barnabusa - you can be my hero then! Good luck going to sleep....
