Got a plan.....

Forgive me this is gonna be long...

Had a SIS (saline infusion sonogram) today and we now have a plan.

A bit about where I'm at. After being told I needed a hysterctomy because of a fibroid and menorrhagia. I found this sight. Someone (thanks whoever you are) suggested a second opinion.

After some searching I found a fibroid specialist. And today I celebrate.

I went to see him Nov. 30. He was fantastic. I am reassured he knows what he is doing. He is passionate about what he does. The entire office is fantastic.

He ordered another ultrasound and a visit to another doc who does laproscopic surgeries. Even the second ultra sound was completely different. They talked to me about what they saw. Had a small consult before I left.

Truly has been a relief with the kind of service I have found. Anyway today we have decided I will have a myomectomy. (or two or even 3)

Since the fibroid is embedded in the uterus he will have to go in shave it and then I will go back in about a month and do it again. (He said the uterus will push (cramp) the embedded part out) The recovery time is similar to a D&C so not but a day...2 at the most.

He believes that will resolve the clots. If I continue to have heavy bleeding we will then do an ablation. I will also get some form of perm. birth control down the road. (I have used condoms the last 10 years cuz the pill makes me sick)

If that doesn't work I will probably being having a hysterectomy this time next year. But I am hopeful today.

In celebration of finally having a plan and celebrating all my sisters here I uprgraded my membership. So cheers to you all for being here the last few months. You have been truly a blessing and I am forever grateful. Make sure if you haven't to look around the sight at all the information here. Thank you hystersysters you have changed another life!

My myo is scheduled for December 23.

Thanks for the encouragement the last few months it has made all the diffference!

Kris
