No Date: DaVinchi with Tummy Tuck?

Hi Sisters -

This is my first post here though I have been lurking around the site for weeks gathering information about the possibility of having a hysterectomy. I have adeno (diagnosed by a d&c in November) and the last few months have been horrible, heavy bleeding, anemia and extreme fatigue for starters. Last month's cycle put me over the edge and I made the decision to be done and have the hysto.

Went to the gyno on Tuesday and informed him of my decision - said he would do it DaVinci. I proposed the idea of a tummy tuck at the same time and he recommended two plastic surgeons - one said he wouldn't do it because the gas from the DaVinci would interfere. Don't meet with the other ps until 2/3 to see what he thinks.

Does anyone have any info on tummy tucks at the same time as their hysto?

I didn't have a tummy tuck but I did have a breast augmentation the same time as my LAVH. As long as your gyno is ok with it you need to find a Plastic Surgeon who is willing to do a tummy tuck at the same time. My Plastic Surgeon went first because he wanted a completely sterile environment. Be prepared for being a late surgery because if the difficulty of coordinating two surgeons schedules. I was originally scheduled for 3pm but got pushed back to 4pm. It also caused some confusion with my insurance because I paid for the BA and they paid for the LAVH. Also be prepared for more pain.

Thanks for the replies - I have heard the "more pain" part comes with the territory, but I figure that if I am ever going to have a tummy tuck the time is now - would never consider having one without another surgery. Siameselady - you bring up something I never would have thought of - a late surgical time trying to coordinate two surgeons - good info - thanks again!
