ER visist postpones needed test

I am still waiting on a surgery date. I was to have a colonoscopy this past Monday and when the results of that were known they would make my surgery date. But this past weekend I had to go to the ER with fever and serious kidney pain. I had a kidney infection and couldn't do the colonscopy on Monday. Now I am rescheduled for February 25th and then can get my surgery date for the hyst. This weekend seems I had a flare-up of intersitual cystitis, and when that happens you are supposed to go on antibioitic right away to prevent a bladder infection. I didn't, and the bladder infection went to the kidney. My body just is not cooperating with me at all! I know that lots of you know this feeling. I am feeling on the mend with the kidney. It's been almost two years now since I was told I need a hyst, but many health issues that have made me wait. I'm ready to get this over with Thanks for listening.

Awww Jerianne Big s
I am so sorry to hear that you are have so many problems. I had a bladder infection that turned into a kidney infection after my Hyst, so I know how painful they can be.
I hope you are able to get your test done, so you can get your Hyst scheduled really soon.
Healing thoughts coming your way.

interstitial cystitis

Jerianne,
I too have interstitial cystitis. I just found at about eight months ago that I have it and endo. I am scheduled for a hyst for March 25, 2002. I was taking medication for the ic but had to stop since it is a blood thinner. My doctor said we were going to concentrate more on the endo for now to see if my symptoms are alleviated. He said the symptoms are so similiar that he doesn't know which is bothering. Does this sound right? You mentioned that when yours flairs up that you take antibiotics for it. I don't do that but can tell you when it is bothering me. I have had lots of kidney problems the last six years. For a long time my doctors made me think it was just me. I kept seeing one specialist after another but noone could diagnose me correctly. What are you doing to help your ic? Thanks for any information that you may give. When is your surgery date now?

Jerianne,
So sorry to hear you had to postpone the colonoscopy. You're lucky it could be rescheduled so quickly. With any luck, they won't find endo in your colon. I had a colonoscopy done two weeks prior to my hyst, also looking for endo in my colon. I was lucky because my colon was healthy. Let us know how you are doing and what they find on Monday. I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

Thanks for the great rely's and the prayers mean so much I am preparing for my colonoscopy
which is tomorrow. They already know that I have endo on the colon, but it is on the outside and not inside of my colon. They found a mass on my CAT scan in 2000, at my sigmoid colon, and then I just recently had an MRI of that same location to see if it was still there, and it showed up on the MRI as a persistent mass. The doctors believe it is a mass of endometriosis on the outside of my colon, that is why I will have a colon surgeon during my hyst. The colonoscopy tomorrow is to make sure that the ulcerative colitis that I had after Christmas is all healed. The can't do my surgery unless they have biopsy proof that the inside of my colon is healed. Thanks for everyone's concerns. Please say a prayer for me today as I drink a whole gallon of bitter tasting liquid to clear out the system! Thanks, and I will let you know when the my date for me to go to the castle will finally be
