Yippee!! I did it!!

Yes, ladies I didn't chicken out at the last minute (was VERY tempted to!) and it went very well. Spinal anaesthetic was great, however, as he did put a small amount of morphine in it, I had 24 hours of nausea and vomiting - no fun at all, couldn't even keep water down. By the second day I was feeling much better and the drip and catheter came out - what a relief. Had to stay an extra day at the castle until the old bowels did their thing, but am now home and pretty comfortable. Ended up having the posterior repair as well as the anterior. Pain level was quite bearable - could only have pills as I vomit heaps with pethedine etc. Have been getting heaps of rest as I'm more tired than I thought I would be. Great to hear from some of the other "23" ladies - wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards to all, Aussie.

Welcome Home Aussie

Great to hear all went pretty well okay. Sorry to hear the morphine made you sick. I had a general and an epidural for post op pain relief. The epi was left in for 48 hours. It was just the best, no barfing at all.

Good to hear that you are being a good princess. Keep resting, keep taking little walks and keep drinking.

Regards and all the best for a continued smooth recovery.

Hi, Aussie,

Isn't it just great that the waiting part is now behind you? Sounds like you struggled there with the vomiting, but you did it!!!!!!
Yippee for you!
I was postponed on Wed. and ended up going on Thurs. also.
I'm very excited to be headed down this path of recovery and off that bumpy waiting road.

Warm wishes to you for a super recovery,

Hey Castle Mate!

Glad to hear you're home and doing okay. That nausea and vomiting is the pits, isn't it!!

Take it easy and don't overdo it. (This is going to be a long six weeks! I keep getting nabbed by the pillow police!)
