Cool I'm first here. I don't know the abreviations well though so bare with me. I had a vaginal hysterectomy and postier repair. Turns out I had some other repairs too but of course I can't remember what my doctor said...and no one else was in the room when he told me so I'll have to wait until my appointment to know for sure. I'm feeling a lot better than I every would have dreamed...hard to sit up here at the computer...and I still haven't had that first BM yet which I'm totally scared of but ready to get it over with if you know what I mean. I can't wait to hear how my fellow sisters are doing hope everyone comes through with ease!

Hey peeps,
I'm home now too. Simple LSH, piece of cake, although I had a fibroid growing on a ligament. Wierd.
So, I'm having some canned soup and tea now and I have to feed the cats.
Still sore, was going to try to cut out the narcs but I'm going to do a few more days of Percocet.
I'll post my full account in the next few days.

Moving around better today. Had to get my neighbor to take out the steristrips, I don't have the nerve for things like that.
Oh, and my department at work sent me a bouquet of flowers, how nice.

home and resting

I had LAVH surgery 4/24 afternoon. Came home evening 4/25. Did not have any post-op nausea, thankfully. I begged the anesthesioogist to give me something before I woke up in recovery. It must have done the trick. Now I'm home and I feel like I was hit by a truck...but despite the soreness, I'm doing ok. Did not like the grogginess from morphine drip, so have stuck to non-narcotic pain relief. Have not taken much today and am still able to sleep and rest semi-comfortably. So I really cannot complain. The gas pressure from procedure is so much better today! That was very uncomfortabe in my ribs and shoulders.

Besides having trouble emptying bladder (I also had bladder tightened), I have not had any main concerns. I am walking with my husband down the street to the corner and back and doing Kegel exercises to help get my bladder back in shape. My appetite, though not as large, is decent. Have eaten anything from oatmeal to spaghetti without any problems. I did have a BM this a.m. very easily. I am thrilled because I've been on the other side and I feel for those who have not-it can mentally freak you out. It will happen!

Good luck to all of those recovering.

Got up and got the kids off to school and took and shower...and had to have a nap. Got up ate lunch...again a nap. I just can't stay awake!
Hope everyone's recovery is coming along well.

Had LSH on 4/23, home on 4/24. Feel better than i thought I would. Still pretty sore and tried to go off the narcs yesterday, but that didn't last long. Woke up with night sweats last night and kept my ovaries. So going to try to go a few more days on pain meds then wean them off again. Up walking around slowling and just trying to take it easy. Hope everyone else is having as great as a recovery!
