Whoops!

Someone got me a hold of the Leslea Newman piece I mentioned a while back. It's not really funny, quite dumb, and might well prove hurtful to some.

My apologies.

The funniest part of my TAH was...

I LOVE the sticker idea !! I had decided to print one up with a clown and an arrow saying 'cut here', but the 'remove excess fat' is just toooo classically funny. that is what mine will have on it.

thank you for the laughter !!

I shoulda done this too

The sticker idea, forgot about this. Had TVH on 4/23! What a riot.. happy staff is nice staff

I think the funniest part of my tvh was when I was asking for Toridol BEFORE even leaving the O.R. Doc said she busted out laughing when I asked for it, and had to check with the nurse to make sure she heard right. I don't see how this was soooo funny, but ah well. They got a laugh at my expense. Who cares right? With the happy drugs, I didn't have a care in the world!

The funniest part of my TAH was...

Well, I'm glad somebody mentioned this again. My parents were in from NJ last week and I didn't get to get online as much as usual. I'm definitely in for the smile sticker. Just one question where should I put it for a vaginal hyst? Inside thigh area?

Thanks for the laughs. Really hope this catches on.

Inside thigh would be good.. or hey.. why not a sticker on each thigh? Im sure the OR staff and your doc will see the sticker(s) before they drape your legs with sterile sheets.

I Had My Sticker on!

Hello Everyone,

10 days post op and here is my sticker story.

This was great! I had put my smiley sticker on, above where I was going to be cut. While in the hospital which was 3 days, every day the doctor came in I forgot to ask him about it. Well a week later when I went back to get my staples out he came in the room, and the first thing he said to me was "Yes he did see the smiley sticker, and he forgot to tell me, well I told him I forgot to ask him about it also.

Anyways he said everyone got a big kick out of it and a good laugh. And he told me he had another patient that put a dotted line across her belly and above it, it said "cut here".

So the moral of the story, the docs enjoy that, so don't be afraid to give them a little laugh, it makes there job much easier and enjoyable, which is a plus for us!

So don't forget the sticker!

Sticker Warning!

Ok LIW's so now I am post op- I was all psyched about donning a sticker or two (scroll up to 4/21/02-my sticker plans) and my dh & I printed stickers on the pc saying "Property Of: with my dh's name-then Handle with care" Anyway- it never happened. I put the stickers in my overnight nike bag and as soon as we got to the hospital (it was pouring down rain) the nurse made my dh take the bag back out to the car. When I thought about the stickers, I did not have the nerve to ask him to go back out in the rain!
Anyway, heres a hint - take the stickers with you in your pants pocket!
Best wishes to all of you!!!!
PS: I'm 11 days post op and feel wonderful!

On learning that I was going to have a vertical incision, a friend suggested that I have a zipper pull tattooed just under my belly button <G>

Laughing

This is Awesome! Laughing is great now, but it’s a good thing I didn’t see this 3 or 4 days post-op. My dh made a great funny the day I got home from the castle and I had to send him out of the room. He kept laughing and it made me keep TRYING to laugh and dying in pain!!! *punch*

Thank goodness this doesn’t last too long. I can laugh a big “belly” laugh now with no pain. Yeah!
