Upcoming March hysterectomy: How many sick leave day have you asked? (teacher)

I clean houses. I am 6 weeks post and still not ready!!! Get so bloated and sore. An hour or so of work in morn and thats about all Im good for. Still not lifting much but my body tells me my restrictions. So much slower than I anticipated and Im getting anxious.

I needed all 8 weeks I had to recoup from my hysterectomy. I ended up having a complete abdominal hysterectomy and delivering a 6 pound 23 cm fibroid. My doctor was wonderful and took 30 minutes at my preop appointment to go over everything that would happen and more importantly what Could happen when they got in there. I was really glad she prepared me with the what if’s, because that happened. The fibroid was bigger than they thought, ended up with extra recovery time needed. I really can’t imagine having to go back to the classroom after 2 weeks. That was just at the point where I started turning the corner of starting to feel better. Good luck with your surgery!
