Weight Gain

I am currently doing weight watcher to lose some weight. It has been slow, with a cycle that takes up 3 wks of the month it seems almost impossible. I am hoping after my surgery that it may go a little smoother. I am curious how weight gain or loss has been after surgery. I am keeping my ovaries as long as they are ok. I am having a laparoscopic hysterectomy. I hope my body falls back to order after this.

Weight Gain

I did not feel like eating much after surgery and it took 3 weeks before I was not picking at food. I just had to be careful not to "treat" myself with too many goodies after that. I lost 5 lbs and hope to lose more once I can get back to exercising.

Weight Gain

Hi,

I couldn't eat much at a time after my surgery either. I ended up losing about 8 pounds. I've read that some do lose weight , some gain and some stay about the same. I guess that it's an individual thing. Getting yourself in shape is a good idea, just go slow and easy - no crash diets.

Weight Gain

I lost about 10 pounds in the 3 weeks after my surgery, because I really didn't want to eat anything.

However, over the next 3 months, I gained most of it back, due to not being able to maintain my usual workout schedule.

It took another few months after that to get my body back in shape, very slowly and gradually!

Weight Gain

I've lost 7 lbs, 2 weeks post-op. My weight is usually pretty stable and that was the biggest difference I noticed before the surgery. From Feb till I had the surgery I gained about 13 lbs. That is a lot for a 5ft 2in person. I finally have my blood sugars back under control and am trying hard to keep my weight loss and lose more.

Hi Jackie,

I had surgery on 9/11 and since then gained 12 pounds but for 8 weeks DH did everything and made me eat too much those somethings were good for me. I'm sure the not much exercise didn't help but walking around the house. Starting to do more and eat better things and hoping to lose it by the middle of December. I went to WW YEARS ago made my goal lost about 78 pounds. Wish I was at that again. Good luck! Love, ((((STITCHER))))
